A Simple Servlet Application for Naive Developers

Here in this example we are using Eclipse IDE for application development. In this we are following a step by step process.

1. Create a Dynamic Web Application in the workspace

2. Give Application a name. Here in this example the Application name is "ServletApplication".

3. Skeleton of a J2EE Web Application

4. Edit the Deployment Descriptor (Web.xml) to configure the Servlet whose name is "ServletOne".

5. Create the Servlet class "ServletOne" and override the doGet() method

6. See the over all application structure

7. Run the application using the configured URL-PATTERN
